Robots can ride motorcycles now, which means we’re all doomed

This is a bad news for the human race. Robots shouldn’t be able to ride motorcycles. Motorcycles are robots. But they can now, thanks to a new Yamaha innovation — MOTOBOT — unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show.

MOTOBOT can steer, brake and accelerate on an “open field run”, according to ABC:

“The way you ride is both beautiful and exciting,” MOTOBOT says about Yamaha rider Rossi in a voiceover.

“I am improving my skills every day but I am not sure I could even beat the five-year-old you. Perhaps if I learn everything about you, I will be able to catch up.

“I am not human, but there has to be something only I am capable of.”

In a statement, Yamaha said controlling a motorcycle at high speed “requires a variety of control systems that must function with a high degree of accuracy”.

Joking aside, it’s a pretty cool advancement because Yamaha hopes the robot will help them test advanced safety features in the future.

But anyway, back to our conspiracy theories: Robots riding motorcycles? Not good. We’ve seen the “Terminator” movies. We know where this is going.
